Modeling Instruction is an effective approach to instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) courses. Modeling Instruction in Physics was designated in 2000 by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the seven best K-12 educational technology programs out of 134 programs evaluated. In 2001 the U.S. Department of Education designated it as one of two exemplary programs in K-12 Science Education out of 27 programs evaluated. Modeling Method and NGSS Science & Engineering Practices Principals and curriculum directors often ask how well Modeling Instruction aligns with the NGSS Science & Engineering Practices. A group of modelers worked on such a document and now it’s ready for members to download. We hope it proves helpful in your discussions with modeling teachers.
The AMTA offers resources for school and/or district administrators. Our program includes:
- Helping you to evaluate your science program, emphasizing where your science department(s) are succeeding and where we can help to improve them.

- Site licensing for AMTA’s curriculum materials.

- Leadership training for administrators to help them effectively evaluate and support exemplary instruction.
