    whiteboard problems – synthesis – using area under the curve of the v-t graphs to calculate changes in position and make the motion map.  Making the motion map puts the two separate pieces back together to make the whole motion.  Its helpful to see this with nice even numbers at least once.

    Ranking tasks – bring the discourse back to the concepts after the quantitative solutions have become rote.  Not that its bad for the quantitative solutions to become rote. You want that to happen, but then you don’t want to lose the conceptual and reduce the whole topic to the rote procedure.  This helps to bring the conceptual back into the picture.
