A couple of years ago I developed an observation protocol specifically to assess the use of Modeling practices in the classroom. I created this for a master’s program in middle school STEM Modeling Instruction but so far, so few teachers have enrolled in the program I do not have enough data to validate the instrument. Is this something you or your department chair (or whoever evaluated science instruction in your school) might be willing to use and then share data on? Data would, of course be anonymized in the analysis process so no one’s identity would ever be known.
I’m attaching a copy of the instrument here for you to have a look at. If you are willing to participate in a validation study, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thanks for considering this.
