Modeling Instruction has been my approach to teaching physics, and more recently chemistry, since 1998. I’ve led Modeling workshops across the country in Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism, as well as developing and leading Models of Light and Modeling Leadership Workshops.  I’ve also led numerous Modeling-focused short workshops for St. Louis Area Physics Teachers, AAPT, NSTA, and STEMteachersNYC, and I served as President of the AMTA and a founding member and past Chairman of STEMteachersNYC. I’m using standards-based grading to improve my implementation of Modeling, the quality of my assessments, and my interaction with students. I currently teach ninth grade physics and electives in engineering and astronomy at Trinity School in New York City.
