Dear Friends of Modeling,
The American Modeling Teachers Association(AMTA) is committed to building educational communities by empowering teachers in pursuit of continuous improvement in STEM teaching and learning. We recognize that currently in the United States many STEM teachers are immigrants. We appreciate these teachers and value their efforts to support their students and positively impact their communities. We advocate for current and future policies that recognize the importance of all STEM teachers’ (foreign and domestic) roles in our society and support safeguards to promote their continued contributions.
The AMTA is concerned with the recent executive order restricting scientific communication. We believe that the exchange of information and ideas is essential to the success of science and scholarship. We believe scientific enterprise flourishes when data and evidence are readily accessible. As science education advocates we encourage policies that allow information to be communicated freely within the scientific community, including those in government agencies.
If any of our members would like to contact their members of Congress and express their concerns the following links will help you do so.
