The Columbus NSTA mixer was well attended with AMTA members joining for appetizers and light discussion about modeling. It was great for attendees from across the country to meet up and discuss their favorite pedagogical technique, Modeling Instruction. There were teachers of high school and middle school teachers in attendance representing all the disciplines. Several discussion threads included cross-cutting concepts and how to develop modeling units other disciplines such as Environmental Science. This was a great way to open the conference as it allowed further meetings to happen amongst the attendees during the rest of the conference. We will plan another Modeling mixer at the National NSTA meeting in Los Angeles- so keep an eye out for additional information.
