You are free to use the AMTA curriculum materials in their current form, or modify them, to meet your instructional needs. Should you choose to share your own versions of these materials, you must give fair attribution as to their source. Many teachers find it valuable to post worksheets and/or solutions for their students to access. In a classroom setting, it is wise to post and then remove them within a reasonable amount of time – not allowing students to take photos. In a virtual setting, teachers are strongly encouraged to use a secure Learning Management System (LMS) rather than a personal website, which are often publicly searchable. Likewise, teachers who distribute screencasts related to AMTA materials are strongly encouraged to share them via their LMS or by using a non-public, unlisted link on a video service (e.g. YouTube or Vimeo). In general, quizzes, tests, and their solutions should not be posted on the web. In extreme circumstances, teachers who must use AMTA assessments in a digital form should take appropriate measures to prevent dissemination of the materials beyond their own students. This may include using a lockdown option within a LMS and creating forms to collect student responses in lieu of disseminating a full assessment document.

Please keep in mind the following guidelines for posting anywhere on the web:

Worksheets: Worksheets may be posted as desired, but do not remove the copyright statement from the footer of any page.

Worksheet solutions: Worksheets with solutions included should only be posted for a limited amount of time in a classroom setting. In a virtual setting, please use a LMS to prevent students from sharing/posting. Again, do not remove the copyright statement from the footer of any page.

Tests and/or tests with solutions: Remember that once posted electronically, it is very easy for students to re-post these documents to other file-sharing sites. Any virtual/remote testing should be conducted in a protected environment (LMS).  Test/quiz solutions should NOT be posted.

Video creations: Teachers should only share videos with students as unlisted, private, or with a lockdown option within a LMS.

Compliance: AMTA conducts web searches and teachers report violations of the AUP. Please follow the guidelines and be respectful of your peers and their students. We have found that most educators understand and comply with this policy, so we will begin by contacting any teachers who appear to be in violation of the AUP. However, we believe this matter is important enough that we will bring it to the attention of the school/district/site administration if an educator refuses to remove solutions and/or test documents from the web.

*Please note – Community responsibility is key when deciding what you’re posting.  These decisions can, and do, impact other teachers and their students.
